Senior IT Project/Programme Manager – New (REF10)
A market-leading organisation is seeking a Senior IT Project/Programme Manager to lead complex, high-value IT programmes within a secure environment. Reporting to the senior management team and managing stakeholders, you will take ownership of programmes from initiation through to operational handover, ensuring alignment to business objectives and delivering measurable benefits across multiple interdependent projects. This role is ideal for a candidate with experience in large-scale IT change who thrives in a strategic, high-responsibility position.
As Senior IT Project/Programme Manager, you will:
* Translate business objectives into clear programme roadmaps and plans
* Lead end-to-end delivery of IT programmes, managing interdependencies across projects and workstreams
* Oversee governance, risk, reporting, and financial control, including budget management
* Engage and influence senior stakeholders and executive leadership
* Ensure smooth transition of programmes into operational delivery
* Support the implementation of best practice programme management across the organisation
The ideal candidate will have:
* 3+ years operating at IT Programme Manager or Lead level
* Broad IT knowledge across infrastructure, systems, and delivery
* Proven experience delivering large, multi-project IT change
* Strong commercial awareness and budget management experience
* Confidence working with senior management and executives
* Local to Bristol and able to work on-site as required
* Eligible and willing to gain UK security clearance (DV level)
Desirable:
* Formal programme management qualification
* Experience working in secure environments
* ITIL or broader service management experience
