Overview
Applications invited for a Research Assistant/Associate to work on the intersection of geometry, topology and machine learning. The position will involve working with different research groups in the Department of Computer Science at the University of Cambridge, UK. In this collaborative project, we will apply insights from geometry and topology to discover new applications of machine learning. Multiple positions may be available.
Role Requirements
The successful candidate must have a PhD (or close to submitting) in mathematics, computer science or a related discipline. This research is interdisciplinary. The candidate must have strong expertise in at least one of the following areas (1) Geometry/Topology-related methods in computer science, or (2) Machine Learning (for example, graph neural networks, generative networks, or neural algorithmic learning), and a clear interest in expanding their knowledge in both domains.

Department and terms
Fixed-term: The funds for this post are available for 2 years in the first instance. Appointment at Research Associate level is dependent on having a PhD. Those who have submitted but not yet received their PhD will be appointed at Research Assistant level, which will be amended to Research Associate once the PhD has been awarded.
