Role overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Commercial Delivery Partner to join our team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting commercial decision-making processes. This position reports directly to the Chief Executive and will be instrumental in driving the organisation's strategy.
BlueLight Commercial provides a commercial service to blue light organisations including all 43 police forces across England and Wales. Although this role is home-based, it will require occasional travel to attend team meetings and support national supplier events.
No two days will be the same, and the role offers scope for professional development.
My Team and the BlueLight Team
You will be a vital member of our dedicated, professional team, collaborating closely with the Chief Executive, Home Office, Board Members, and the Senior Leadership Team. Your role will involve providing comprehensive commercial support across various services within the organisation, with a focus on contributing to the overall value and success of BlueLight Commercial.
The role will support the development of efficient ways of working and communicating across stakeholders, optimizing workplace tools and technology for agile, remote delivery. Being part of our team is exciting and somewhat unique!
My Responsibilities and Accountabilities
* Develop and implement business and commercial strategies in collaboration with the Chief Executive.
* Support the Senior Leadership Team on commercial decisions, including strategy and risk management.
* Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
* Work with finance and analytics teams on financial analysis, modeling, and identifying opportunities for cost savings and revenue.
* Create presentations, reports, and briefings on commercial activities and performance metrics.
* Collaborate with the Home Office on key programmes and grant deliverables.
* Develop supplier and market intelligence briefings for the CEO.
* Align commercial activities with business objectives through cross-functional collaboration.
* Support policing reform and PECP activities, developing review processes and KPIs.
* Communicate business needs and decision rationales effectively to stakeholders.
* Implement process improvements to enhance efficiency.
* Lead specific projects aligned with strategic goals.
* Represent the organisation at events and conferences for business development.
* Perform additional duties as assigned by the CEO.
Qualifications and Experience
* Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Business, Commercial, Finance, Law, or related field.
* CIPS Level 6 qualification and/or at least 4 years’ experience in a commercial environment (e.g., procurement, commissioning, contract management).
* Willingness to work towards Government Commercial Function (GCF) accreditation to Commercial Lead level.
Required Skills and Knowledge
* Proven experience in commercial/procurement, preferably in the public sector.
* Project and programme management experience.
* Experience in writing comprehensive business cases.
* Ability to work in complex multi-stakeholder environments.
* Strong numeracy and analytical skills, with the ability to recognize financial challenges and escalate appropriately.
* Knowledge of public sector procurement regulations and best practices.
* Success in leading and planning commercial or business strategies.

* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence collaboratively.
* Relationship management skills to build trusted partnerships.
* Persuasive, with the ability to present options and innovative solutions.
* Highly numerate and analytical, with proficiency in tools like Power BI (training provided if needed).
* Excellent IT skills, including Microsoft Office and advanced PowerPoint capabilities.
