Financial ControllerSalary: £47,250 - £55,000 per annumLocation: Colchester, Essex (Office-based, 5 days per week)
The Company
We are partnering with a rapidly expanding media business to recruit a Financial Controller. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified accountant to take full ownership of financial operations within an ambitious, growing organisation.
The Role
As Financial Controller, you will be responsible for:
* Financial Reporting & Analysis: Preparation of accurate monthly management accounts, annual financial statements, and regulatory reporting
* Budgeting & Forecasting: Leading the annual budgeting process and producing regular re-forecasts
* Financial Control: Maintaining robust accounting processes and implementing improvements where needed
* Business Partnering: Working closely with senior stakeholders to provide financial insight and support decision making
* Compliance: Ensuring all financial activities comply with statutory requirements and internal policies
* Systems & Processes: Identifying and implementing improvements to financial systems and reporting
Candidate Requirements
The successful candidate will have:
* Professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA)
* Previous experience in a Financial Controller/ Manager or similar leadership role
* Strong technical accounting skills including management accounts preparation
* Excellent knowledge of accounting software (Xero, QuickBooks or similar)
* Ability to communicate financial information to non-finance colleagues
* Experience in a fast-paced commercial environment
* Right to work in the UK with no sponsorship required and Uk finance work experience
