* Operational Excellence: Manage day-to-day operations, including HR functions, compliance with healthcare regulations, and the integration of new technologies and practices to improve patient care.

Medwyn Surgery is a well-established GP practice located in the heart of Dorking, Surrey, serving a growing patient population of over 14,000. Our mission is to deliver the highest standard of primary healthcare, encompassing medical treatment, community engagement, and strong doctor-patient relationships. The Centre on Reigate Road houses Medwyn Surgery, physiotherapy and podiatry services, community health staff, conference facilities, a pharmacy, audiometry services, and services provided by sessional medical practitioners. The Centre is fully accessible with step-free access, wheelchair facilities, induction loop, and disabled toilet. Amenities include CCTV, comfort cooling, and automated check-in and patient calling systems.
Medwyn Surgery offers a full range of Enhanced Services, including Improved Access appointments every weekday evening and on Saturdays to accommodate flexible scheduling.

Job Description and Responsibilities
* Planning and Development: Prepare annual reports and business development plans; provide leadership on new developments and strategies; monitor NHS developments locally and nationally; set and review aims and objectives; ensure Care Quality Commission compliance; attend PCN meetings; support GDPR compliance; update policies and processes; manage TeamNet.
* Human Resources: Oversee HR to comply with legislation; recruit and select staff; manage contracts, job descriptions, and documentation; conduct annual appraisals and leave administration; exit interviews; absence management; performance reviews; identify training needs; hold regular staff meetings.
* Finance and Profitability (Supported by the Bookkeeper): Manage administration of financial aspects including payroll and NHS pension; maximise income and record expenditure; prepare financial reports, budgets, and projections; seek profitability improvements; liaise with practice accountants; manage drawings and superannuation; cash flow budgeting and VAT returns; loan agreements; review private fees.
* Information Technology: Day-to-day IT management with support from the Operations and Digital Transformation Manager; ensure data protection compliance; develop and enforce IT policies and disaster recovery planning.
* Website Management: Explore new technologies to improve patient experience and staff workload.
* Premises: Overall facilities management with support; ensure statutory compliance, security, repairs, insurance, health and safety; project management; liaise with tenants to ensure satisfaction; manage leases.
* Patient Services: Ensure adequate appointment provision; manage patient inquiries and complaints; update informational materials; produce a quarterly newsletter; promote patient participation in service decisions; manage SEAs and complaints.
* Other: Manage health and safety documentation; implement administrative policies; ensure clinical policies are developed and reviewed; coordinate research activities; maintain communications with external agencies; liaise with NHS Heartlands, Dorking PCN, solicitors, accountants, banks and others; maintain accreditations (e.g., Information Governance).
Qualifications and Experience
Essential: Good standard of education with excellent literacy and numeracy; experience of working with the general public; experience in managing finances; experience in managing large multidisciplinary teams; project development and implementation experience; strong negotiation and communication skills; IT proficiency; leadership ability; strategic thinking; ability to manage priorities, deadlines, and relationships; DBS check; commitment to confidentiality.
Desirable: Healthcare setting experience; NHS/primary care experience; health and safety experience; clinical system user skills.
