Engineering Delivery Lead – HVAC

Sizewell C is a 3.2‑gigawatt power station that will generate low‑carbon electricity for at least 60 years, positioned next to the operational Sizewell B plant. The role is hybrid, requiring 1‑2 days per week at the Bristol Aztec West office.
Responsibilities
* Support Development Planning with Execution Designers and accept their plan before commencement of Execution Design.
* Ensure information issued to suppliers, manufacturers and installers is consistent with design requirements.
* Build a positive proactive relationship with the CEL and Area Manager/PM.
* Resolve manufacturing TQs and NCRs.
* Chair Technical Progress Review sessions to optimise resolution of technical queries and issues.
* Provide technical expertise and advice on Execution Design to the Programme.
* Assess design change impacts and oversee incorporation into the MEHA scope.
* Help develop the business case for design changes via the SZC change process.
* Offer technical engineering advice to the Programme Manager.
* Lead MEHA input into the Collaboration Phase during the Building Phase Design.
* Review and accept the SZC Baseline design and associated documentation.
* Provide constructability inputs to design studies and activities.
* Optimize, simplify and standardise the implementation of detailed design definitions.
* Oversee production of technical procurement specifications for bulk MEHA items & materials.
* Review and accept As‑Defined configuration.
* Validate As‑Defined configuration identities and PCI for digital tools.
* Review Execution Design & documentation to ensure manufacturability & constructability, providing technical recommendations for receipt acceptance.
Qualifications
* Demonstrated experience leading multi‑disciplinary teams on Mechanical, Electrical or Ventilation projects in a highly regulated sector.
* Engineering Management experience on large‑scale EPC projects from concept design to commissioning.
* Awareness of HVAC design, manufacture and installation processes and the requirements for delivery success.
* Experience on HPC projects is advantageous but not essential.
* Degree qualification (or equivalent) in a relevant technical discipline.
* Membership of a relevant institute or extensive engineering experience, suitable for registration with the Engineering Council.
* Comprehensive understanding of design discipline drawings, including error identification.
* Proficient in Navisworks (or comparable), Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
* Knowledge of ISO9001:2015 and Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015.
* Experience with Configuration Management and Change Management processes.
* Positive HSE attitude and strong Nuclear Safety Culture.
* Strong leadership, collaborative nature and ability to reach sensible compromise positions.
* Excellent communication skills for interfacing with other disciplines and external stakeholders.
* High‑standard quality approach with a “Right first time” goal.
* Positive “can‑do” mentality, self‑motivated, setting behavior standards and leading by example.
* Ability to identify blockers and deliver solutions within specification and procedure constraints.
* Able to secure necessary security clearance.
