A well-established, design-led engineering consultancy is seeking an experienced IES Energy Modeller / Sustainability Consultant to join its growing team. Role
You will act as a key member of the sustainability team, leading and supporting energy modelling and environmental analysis across multiple projects. The role involves both hands‑on simulation work and client‑facing consultancy, contributing to planning submissions, compliance strategies, and low‑carbon design development.
Responsibilities
* Develop and manage thermal and energy models using IES for a range of building types
* Deliver compliance assessments including Part L, TM52, TM59, and BREEAM
* Produce energy statements and sustainability reports for planning applications
* Collaborate with engineers and design teams to develop practical, compliant design solutions
* Support energy audits, overheating analysis, and ventilation strategies
* Contribute to project coordination, client communication, and technical submissions
* Assist with broader sustainability initiatives, including renewable integration and low‑carbon strategies
Requirements
* Degree qualified in Engineering, Environmental Design, or a related field
* Strong experience using IES for thermal modelling and compliance
* Solid understanding of UK building regulations, energy policy, and sustainability frameworks
* Experience with SAP/SBEM or EPC accreditation is advantageous
* Familiarity with BREEAM, renewable technologies, and building performance analysis
* Excellent communication skills with the ability to work both independently and within multidisciplinary teams
