Electrical Project Engineer - Hybrid | £50,000 + package | Ascot
A Global Engineering Consultancy is seeking a delivery-focused Electrical Project Engineer to join a specialist team working on diverse technical projects for major names in the Food & Drink Manufacturing Sector.
This hybrid role is based at their UK HQ near Ascot, with occasional travel to client sites for surveys and commissioning phases of projects.
This is not a design role - instead, you'll be supporting Project Managers and overall project & programme delivery (Cradle to Grave - FEED > Commissioning & Maintenance), responsible for producing Functional Design Specifications (FDS) and User Requirement Specifications (URS), managing external design partners, and overseeing technical delivery across the full project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities of Electrical Project Engineer
Produce URS and FDS documentation
Act as the Client's Engineer, managing external design firms
Support tendering and feasibility with internal teams
Manage electrical/control/automation tasks across projects
Oversee site activities and commissioning, including I/O testing and instrumentation setup
Specify and appraise control panel components and instrumentation
Ensure accurate documentation and "As Built" records are completed
Experience & Qualifications Required for Electrical Project Engineer Role:
HNC/HND or Degree in Electrical Engineering Electrical/Instrumentation Engineering, Electrical Control Systems or related field
Circa 2-4+ years' industryl experience in Maintenance, Projects or Design-type role with project experience
Background in global EPCM, industrial process, utilities, wastewater, chemical, food & drink, or similar technical environments
Experience in Electrical Design, Project Engineering, ECI, or Electrical Maintenance
Proficient in MS Office and AutoCAD (for reading/interpreting only)
Strong understanding of schematics, instrumentation, and control panels
Familiar with PLC/SCADA systems (e.g., Siemens, Rockwell)
Knowledge of industrial networks (Ethernet, Profinet, Profibus, ASI, 4-20mA)
Clean UK driving license
Strong communication skillset with ability to work with major Clients in the Food & Drink industry
