Production Operative - Garment Preparation
Newton Abbot | £13 per hour | Monday-Friday day shifts (hours tbc) | Temporary to Permanent
Introduction
We are looking for a reliable Production Operative with strong attention to detail to join a garment preparation team. This role involves preparing clothing items for production, ensuring machines are correctly set up, and assisting with finishing and packing customer orders.
Key Duties
* Prepare garments for production, including loading correct thread colours and needles into machinery.
* Set up and support embroidery and heat press machines.
* Operate heat press equipment to apply transfers and designs.
* Ensure all materials and components are ready for production runs.
* Carry out quality checks on finished garments to ensure high standards are met.
* Pack and prepare orders for dispatch.
* Maintain a clean and organised work area.
Requirements
* Previous experience in clothing, textiles, or a similar production environment preferred.
* Familiarity with embroidery machines and/or heat transfer techniques highly desirable.
* Good manual dexterity and comfortable with hands-on tasks.
* Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately.
* Ability to work efficiently independently and as part of a team.
* Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
