Position: Unqualified Teaching Assistant Location: Crosby, Liverpool Contract Type: Full-time (Term-time only – 39 weeks per year) Start Date: September 2025 (or earlier if available) Hourly Rate: £13.75 – £14.55 per hour About the Role The school is looking to appoint a dedicated and enthusiastic Unqualified Teaching Assistant to support teaching and learning across the classroom. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about working with children and interested in exploring a future career in education. You will work under the guidance of qualified teachers, helping to support the academic and emotional development of pupils. Main Responsibilities Assist in planning and delivering engaging lessons Provide targeted support to individual pupils and small groups, especially those with additional needs Prepare teaching resources, displays, and classroom materials Encourage positive behaviour and social development Supervise pupils during break and lunchtime, as needed Person Specification Essential: A genuine interest in supporting children and young people Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Reliable, punctual, and able to work effectively in a team Basic proficiency in English and Maths (GCSE Grade C/4 or equivalent) Open to feedback and committed to ongoing learning and development Patient, empathetic, and maintains a calm and positive approach Desirable: Experience working with children in a school, nursery, youth group, or similar setting Awareness of safeguarding and child protection principles All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role.
