Overview
The firm is seeking an experienced Commercial Property Solicitor or Fee Earner to manage a full caseload from instruction through to legal completion. The ideal candidate will have strong technical knowledge across all aspects of commercial property law, excellent client care skills, and the ability to work effectively as part of a collaborative team.
Key Responsibilities
* Handle all aspects of commercial property work, including:
o Agricultural property
o Commercial sales and purchases
o Landlord and tenant matters (new leases, renewals, licences, and ancillary documents)
o Option agreements and conditional sale/purchase agreements
o Property finance, sale and leaseback, overage, and deeds of grant
* Deliver a high standard of client service in line with professional and regulatory requirements.
* Progress client matters promptly and accurately, keeping clients regularly updated on progress and costs.
* Maintain accurate records and confidentiality of client information, ensuring compliance with all relevant professional standards.
* Manage billing, time recording, aged debt, and other agreed performance targets.
* Take responsibility for credit control on own matters, working with accounts and finance teams as needed.
* Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and external stakeholders to generate repeat business and referrals.
* Keep up to date with developments in commercial property law and undertake regular professional training.
* Supervise and support junior staff or legal assistants, ensuring quality, efficiency, and wellbeing.
* Contribute to a positive team culture through participation in departmental meetings and firmwide initiatives.
Skills and Experience
* Proven experience managing a broad range of commercial property transactions.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and maintain professionalism.
* Strong organisational and time-management abilities, with attention to detail and the ability to prioritise effectively.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office and legal case management systems.
* Strong team player with a collaborative, supportive approach.
* Commitment to high standards of client care and professional excellence.
Location and Working Arrangements
The firm is flexible on location; however, this role would ideally suit someone based within the Skipton, Silsden, or Barnoldswick area. Hybrid working is available, with the expectation that the successful candidate will attend the office three days per week to support clients and collaborate with colleagues.
