This particular role provides an opportunity to work with the multi-disciplinary team to provide treatment for patients with an oncological or haematological diagnosis.
The successful applicant needs to be experienced in the administration of SACT (systemic anti-cancer therapy) and supporting patients and their families with a cancer diagnosis.
The SACT Nurse will assess patients’ health and well-being across a complex and changing caseload of cancer patients. The post holder will assist in the delivery of care to meet individuals’ health and wellbeing needs throughout the cancer treatment pathway, including administration of SACT. The post holder will assist in maintaining and developing cancer services and contribute to quality improvement within cancer services.
Main duties of the job
This nurse is a member of a multi-professional team whose aim is to deliver a co-ordinated, comprehensive and holistic service for patients with a cancer and haematology diagnosis.
They will work together with the Clinical Nurse Specialists and other SACT and Haematology nurses to deliver an excellent patient focused service for patients having all aspects of treatment including SACT, transfusion. EDUCATION, QUALIFICATIONS & TRAINING
Essential criteria
1. Registered nurse with NMC pin
2. Degree (working towards)
3. Care of Patient receiving Cytotoxic SACT
Desirable criteria
4. ENB 998 or equivalent
Experience

5. RGN with relevant experience
6. SACT experience at Band 5 or above

7. Oncology/Haematology experience
