Leicestershire County Council is looking for Employment Support Officers to join its Adult Learning Service. The role will be based at County Hall Glenfield, Leicester, with hybrid working and occasional travel across the county.
Contract details
Fixed term, 3 years (possible extension). Full time (37 hours/week). Salary 32,070 – 34,359 per annum (pro‑rated for part‑time). Closing date: 30 November 2025.
About the role
As part of the Connect to Work programme, you will deliver front‑line, person‑centred support to adults who face barriers to employment. You will work directly with participants, develop action plans using the Supported Employment Quality Framework (SEQF), liaise with employers, and provide in‑work support to help participants settle into roles.
Responsibilities
* Build trusted relationships with participants and support them to engage in structured plans to find and sustain employment.
* Complete and update vocational profiles identifying skills, experience, needs and employment preferences.
* Develop person‑centred action plans that lead to sustainable employment following SEQF.
* Engage with local employers to match participants to suitable roles and support them to adopt inclusive recruitment practices.
* Provide in‑work support to participants helping them settle into roles, build confidence and integrate into the workplace.
* Work in partnership with agencies across social care, health and employment to design effective referral and progression pathways.
* Maintain accurate records for audit and performance monitoring, including eligibility checks and employment outcomes.
Qualifications & Experience
* Minimum Level 3 qualification in a relevant subject plus Level 2 English and Maths (Grade C/Level 4 or above) or equivalent experience.
* Recent experience delivering high‑quality employment programmes.
* Experience working with adults facing complex barriers (learning disabilities, neurodiversity, care leavers, etc.).
* Strong understanding of Supported Employment and challenges faced by target groups.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to coach, mentor and motivate others.
* Creative problem‑solving skills and the ability to develop person‑centred action plans based on vocational assessments.
* Experience engaging local employers to create inclusive job opportunities and working in partnership with a range of agencies.

Other requirements
An enhanced DBS check is required. The role requires the right to work in the UK.
