To undertake Best Interests Assessment work under Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards legislation and associated safeguarding tasks.
Based in East Riding - This role is a bank position to complete assessments as and when required.
* Professional qualification and current registration to practice as a Social Worker, Occupational Therapist, Psychologist or Nurse.
* Best Interest Assessor training completed.
Knowledge of:
* Main issues in working with adults with complex needs, e.g. ageing, physical disability, mental ill health, learning disability and dementia.
* The Care Act 2014
* Safeguarding Adults Policy and Procedures.
* Mental Capacity Act and Deprivation of Safeguards.
Experience:
* Significant qualified experience as a Social Worker
* Complex assessments of need & safeguarding.
* Reviewing and monitoring of client needs and service delivery.
* Best Interest decision making.
* Reporting to panels and in court settings.
To undertake Mental Capacity Assessments and Best Interests Assessments of people in care homes or hospital settings.
To reach decisions on whether arrangements for care and treatment of a person in a care home or hospital requires authorisation under Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards.
Acting under appropriate legislation to safeguard the welfare of adults.
Monitoring and supervising clients according to statutory and Departmental requirements.
Seeking to work in partnership with families to promote, develop and maintain a maximum quality of life for people assessed.
Providing information and advice around the Mental Capacity Act.
Maintaining records of work in line with Departmental requirements.
