Pharmacy Support Worker - Clinical Trials

Glasgow Royal Infirmary host and deliver a range of commercial and non-commercial clinical trials from Phase I to Phase IV. The clinical trials pharmacy team maintains strong working relationships with the Research and Innovation Department and NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde are sponsor for a number of clinical trials. This post provides an exciting opportunity to be part of new fast moving research incorporating new ways of working and patient centred care.
We are looking for a highly motivated individual to join our friendly and supportive pharmacy team in the delivery of Clinical Trial Pharmacy services ensuring the safe and effective supply of medicines to patients. You will be required to contribute to the day to day running of the department and undertake routine tasks in support of technical activities within pharmacy clinical trials and to contribute to the delivery of a quality service. Key duties will include receiving orders and dispensing of investigational medicinal products to trial participants. This may include oral medication and novel products in development but this list is not exhaustive.
The successful candidate will undertake an SVQ in Pharmacy Services Group Award (at SCQF level 6) as per General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) requirements for the education and training of pharmacy support staff. They will also complete a comprehensive on the job training programme to be fully proficient within the pharmacy support worker role. Knowledge of/or experience in Clinical Trials would be advantageous but not essential as training will be provided. Occasional participation in weekend or public holiday working may be required
