Job Description
* Investigate and assess potential breaches of planning regulations.
* Prepare and issue formal notices and documentation related to enforcement actions.
* Maintain accurate records of cases and provide regular updates to stakeholders.
* Conduct site visits and gather evidence to support enforcement proceedings.
* Liaise with property owners, developers, and other relevant parties to resolve issues.
* Provide professional advice on planning enforcement matters to internal and external stakeholders.
* Represent the organisation at committee meetings and public inquiries, if necessary.
* Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation and internal policies.
The Successful Applicant
A successful Planning Enforcement Officer should have:
* Proven experience in planning enforcement or a related field within the Public Sector.
* A solid understanding of planning legislation and enforcement procedures.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to assess cases effectively.
* Excellent communication skills to engage with diverse stakeholders.
* The ability to manage a varied caseload and meet deadlines efficiently.
* A valid driving licence and willingness to conduct site visits within the area.
