This is a permanent, part time vacancy that will close in 11 days at 23:59 BST.

The Vacancy

The post is 24.5 hours per week.

The working pattern is Wednesday 13:30 - 20:00, Thursday 10:00 - 17:00, Friday 09:30 - 14:30 an Saturday 09:30 - 17:00.

Our premises at the iconic Kelvin Hall in Glasgow's West End showcases the Moving Image Archive along with providing access to the Library's extensive digital collections.

As an Access and Events Assistant, you will be part of the team responsible for the delivery of the on-site access and events, as well as a remote enquiry service to the users of the Library collections located at the Kelvin Hall. The Access Centre is open Tuesday to Saturday, with our remote enquiries provided Monday to Friday.

Duties will include offering assistance and guidance for accessing film archive, sound material, and the Library's extensive digital resources. The Access and Events team act as the first point of contact for users and play a key role in establishing the reputation of the Library at Kelvin Hall.

The ideal candidates will have experience of working in a customer service and events-based role. They will have excellent customer services skills, the ability to work well within a team and be flexible and adaptable. An enthusiasm and respect for historical and nationally significant collections would be beneficial.
