We’re looking for a proactive, highly organised Project Manager to join our team on a fixed-term contract to cover maternity leave. This role will run from January 2026 to November 2026 and will involve managing Creative Coop’s schedule, resourcing, coworking space, and client projects from inception to delivery. You’ll work closely with our team and clients, ensuring projects run smoothly, deadlines are met, and communications are clear.
We’re a design studio with a worker co-operative model based within The Minories Gallery in Colchester. We collaborate with purpose driven organisations on a range of projects with a strong social impact. We design brands, websites and digital tools for people who want to create a better future.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage Creative Coop’s overall schedule and resourcing.
* Manage project schedules and daily team tasks, facilitate smooth handovers, identify roadblocks and communicate issues to clients effectively and promptly.
* Maintain ongoing client relationships.
* Collaborate with the team to prepare estimates and manage client invoicing
* Manage a variety of website, design, branding and digital tool projects from start to finish.
* Field client calls & emails, prioritise urgent tasks, and delegate work when needed.
* Lead daily team calls and weekly / monthly project roundups with the team, including project debriefs to improve processes.
* Document client meetings, workshops, internal meeting minutes.
* Organise meetings, bookings and travel for the team.
* Maintain and organise our internal digital filing system.
* Manage all processes for onboarding coworkers, from booking visits, showing them around, organising and participating in events and general operations.
* Identify and schedule key business events for the team to attend.
* Produce and share monthly project reports and summaries for the current Project Manager and team.
Essential Skills:
* Keen interest in working with third sector organisations.
* Previous web design agency experience or similar organisational role.
* Project Management skills and experience, preferably within a web or digital environment.
* Excellent communication and team skills.
* Adaptable to working with a small team and a range of clients with changing project requirements.
* Familiar with Google Workspace (docs and sheets especially).
* Experience with Asana would be ideal, but experience with any major project management software is essential.
Additional Skills (Nice to Have):
* Agile project management (Scrum) qualification or experience.
* Experience using InDesign, accounts software, and CMS platforms such as WordPress (training provided).
* In depth knowledge of the full web development lifecycle.
* Social media literacy.
* Experience in CRM systems.
* Good proofing skills.
Contract Information
* Fixed-term maternity cover contract Jan 2026 ,flex starting date – mid Nov 2026.
* The role is being offered to provide temporary cover for an employee on statutory maternity leave.
* This will be working in the office five days a week.
* The successful candidate will receive a handover period before the start of leave, ideally in December.
* The contract will automatically end upon the agreed end date or by agreement.
