We have a small team of 10 and our offices are based in Grimsby Town Centre.

Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site Bookkeeper position located in Grimsby. As a Bookkeeper, day-to-day duties include maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records, reconciling accounts, preparing financial statements, and managing journal entries.

Client Portfolio Management: Responsible for maintaining and organising a varied client portfolio, ensuring highest service levels are maintained at all times.

Financial Transactions: Accurately record daily financial transactions for our clients, ensuring all money movements are documented correctly.

Bank Reconciliation: Perform regular checks to ensure that bank statements and records all reconcile, identifying and correcting any discrepancies.

Invoicing and Payments: Manage invoicing for clients, monitor incoming payments, and oversee purchase invoice management to the firm's cloud system and outgoing payments.

Financial Reporting: Assist in preparing basic financial information to trial balance ready for Client Manager review and preparation of statutory financial statements.

Budgeting Support: Work with clients to monitor their spending against budgets, highlighting any significant variances.

Practice Development: Actively look and share ideas to improve internal processes of the Practice in order to assist in creating greater efficiencies or improved client experience.

Qualifications:

* Proven experience in bookkeeping or a related field, preferably within a UK accountancy practice.

* Strong understanding of basic accounting principles and familiarity with UK financial regulations.

* Proficient in accounting software, especially Xero and Microsoft Office Suite.

* Excellent numerical skills and attention to detail.

* Strong organisational and time management abilities.

* Effective communication and interpersonal skills, capable of maintaining strong client relationships.

* AAT qualification or equivalent is preferred but not mandatory.
