An enthusiastic dietitian is sought for the Royal Lancaster Infirmary team. The role offers a balanced work/life environment with opportunities for career progression and development.
Applicants must be HCPC registered dietitians. The post is based at Royal Lancaster Infirmary but may include travel to other Trust sites.
Main duties of the job
* Work as part of a site‑based team with experienced dietitians.
* Provide inpatient care across medical, surgical, orthopaedics, oncology, stroke management, and outpatient clinic settings.
* Gain experience in nutrition support, enteral feeding, gastroenterology, paediatrics, and other dietetic specialist areas where appropriate.
* Support the training of student dietitians within the approved department.
* Utilise IT facilities to support personal development and training.

Person specification
Education and Qualifications
* Commitment to achieve Student training qualifications within 2 years of taking up the post.
* Relevant dietetic courses, other than the core Dietetic course required for HCPC registration.
* Member of the British Dietetic Association.
Experience
* Under‑graduation level or Band 5 core competencies in dietetics.
* Evidence of up‑to‑date knowledge of best practice in dietetics.
* Recent dietetic experience in an acute setting.
Skills, ability and knowledge
* Assessment, observation, evaluation and reporting skills.
* Teamworking ability.
* Excellent written and oral communication skills in English.
* Capacity to work independently with guidance from colleagues.
* Basic knowledge of health and social care legislation and guidelines.
* Understanding of team dynamics and building effective working relationships.
* Experience using electronic patient records.
* Collaborative working across/between professions and agencies to achieve agreed outcomes.
* Willingness to work flexibly to meet unexpected and unusual circumstances.
* Commitment to lifelong learning.
* Compliance with the Trust’s policies.
* Ability to travel between Trust sites and clinics as required.
