About The Role

We have an exciting new role for a National Business Development Manager working nationally with the primary aim of winning and developing revenue streams from large major customers.
Working closely with the sales and account management team to develop and deliver a commercial strategy for our products to achieve high ROI goals in accordance with the Sunbelt Rentals business objectives.
This will be done by optimizing revenue through multiple sales channels (National, Regional, and Internal), identifying and marketing differentiated value propositions through alternative markets and growth sectors, and initiating a training and development program to improve the order capture conversion rate and overall customer experience.
Your responsibilities will include:
1. Create and implement a performance management process for the Sales community to improve capability, call activity, portfolio, and area growth within HS2.
2. Develop and manage a National project and portfolio pipeline to drive new business growth through relevant sales channels and sectors.
3. Work closely with the National accounts team to create a plan to promote & increase the Powered Access ‘Share of wallet’ within National Accounts.
4. Align campaigns and collateral with marketing for new products, services, and underutilized offerings.
5. Identify new markets and underpenetrated sectors and create strategies to gain traction and market share.
6. Develop systems and controls for pricing to improve governance, discounting, and overall ROI.
7. Promote cross-selling opportunities across all divisions of Sunbelt Rentals.
You will be required to be based from our site in Milton Keynes 3-4 days per week.

To succeed as a National Business Development Manager, you will bring:
* Experience in an Account Management role with significant experience in the Plant and Tool Hire Industry, preferably in sales or contract management.
* Confidence and ability to develop strong relationships with key external stakeholders and lead on tender bids ensuring profitability and good ROI.
* Ability to collaborate across teams including Procurement, Tenders & Bids, Marketing, and sales colleagues.
The essential requirements:
* Significant sales experience working with large customers.
* Sales management experience, including managing and developing a sales team.
* Commercial acumen to propose and bid for competitive contracts.
* Experience in tender and bid writing for sizable opportunities.
* Excellent communication and presentation skills.
* Good understanding of hire contracts and terms.
* Ability to work collaboratively across teams to build proposals and form contracts.
