A rare and exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Care and Support mental health team in Stevenage. Within this role, you will support residents with enduring mental health issues. This can be highly challenging but rewarding in equal measure.
This role requires early or late shift work, including some weekends and bank holidays.
As a key worker, you will be fully responsible for your customers’ support plans and encouraging their independence. The customers may have complex enduring mental health issues, often resulting from drug-induced psychosis, with unpredictable behavioral patterns. They require positive support to maintain their independence and to remain as active in the community as possible. The ultimate goal is for residents to return to independent living in the community.
What you’ll need to succeed
You should be a team player with enthusiasm for your role. Strong communication skills, a flexible approach, and a positive attitude are essential to achieve targets in a challenging, changeable environment. With empathy, understanding, and patience, this can be a demanding but ultimately rewarding role for the right candidate.
You may need to make decisions regarding safeguarding and risk issues daily, so confidence and decisiveness are important. While you will have the full support of a dedicated management team, you will be the key worker for your assigned customers, including maintaining detailed records and liaising with third parties involved in the support package. Good IT skills are essential.
If you are passionate about delivering excellent service to vulnerable adults in a dignified manner and want to make a real difference, this role is for you. You will help individuals become content and manage their own lives!
To ensure safe, high-quality services, we will conduct an enhanced background check with the Disclosure and Barring Service, including a check of the Adult Barred List once an employment offer is made. A new check will be completed every three years.
Please note: we do not currently offer visa sponsorship.
