Application Deadline

Recruitment is ongoing. Please apply as soon as possible, as the advert may close once we have sufficient applicants.

Your Role

We are seeking a Graduate Civil Engineer to join our Infrastructure team in Reading as part of our 2026 Graduate Programme. From day one, you will contribute to the development of new communities across the Midlands and East of England while collaborating in a creative, interdisciplinary environment.

The Opportunity

Your work will be diverse, ranging from designing new junctions on the national strategic road network to delivering sustainable drainage systems for large-scale residential developments.

* Identify optimal and sustainable design solutions for residential infrastructure including drainage and highways.
* Undertake varied design work for residential and commercial schemes using AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and other industry software.
* Support engineering activities from feasibility through to construction, including detailed calculations, analysis, and inspections.
* Assess project risks and implement effective risk management strategies.
* Assist in preparing reports, presentations, bids, and proposals.
* Provide technical guidance on civil engineering matters to the wider project team.
* Attend meetings and workshops with clients and multidisciplinary stakeholders.

Example Projects

Our portfolio includes major regional residential projects such as the redevelopment of Alconbury Airfield and a new development at Little Barford, Bedfordshire (including interaction with East–West Rail), design support for the continued redevelopment of Paradise, Birmingham, and nationally significant energy projects such as a giga battery plant.

Professional Development and Support

You will benefit from a structured graduate training scheme and be assigned both a Delegated Engineer and a Supervising Civil Engineer to support your route to Chartership. You will join a supportive and successful team, gain strong client exposure, and develop professionally in an innovative and collaborative environment.

About You (Qualifications & Attributes)

We value your potential over past experience. You will bring a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering and a strong interest in the Infrastructure sector. We are looking for:

* An Adapter: Calm and effective in changing situations, comfortable switching between varied and dynamic tasks.
* A Perseverer: Composed in the face of setbacks, approaching challenges with confidence and determination.
* A Collaborator: Effective working with diverse teams, considering others’ perspectives to shape better outcomes.
* A Problem-Solver: Ready to share insights and constructively challenge conventional thinking.

Working Pattern

Graduates are expected to attend the office four days per week to ensure you receive time with your team and the appropriate level of support.

What We Offer

* Competitive salary
* Private medical insurance
* A range of benefits, including holiday buy and sell, group income protection, and life assurance
* Permanent employment contract, reflecting our commitment to your long-term career
* Professional progression plan supporting your route to chartership
* A supportive, collaborative team environment with an active Early Careers peer group and wider employee resource group network
