Are you an ambitious clinical psychologist seeking a new challenge, career development, and a competitive salary?
The Cambian Group, the UK’s largest provider of specialist services in education, mental health rehabilitation, and learning disabilities, is looking for a dedicated, caring individual to join as a psychologist.
Cambian Meeko House is a 12-bedded children’s residential home catering for 12–18-year-olds with ongoing mental health needs and challenging behaviours that may prevent them from functioning within the community without continued support. There is an on-site school (Home Tree School) to support the educational needs of the young people.
Job Role
We are recruiting qualified Clinical Psychologists (NHS band 78a equivalent) to join our team, offering varied and rewarding work across different contexts, with opportunities to shape and improve the service.
We welcome applications from psychologists interested in working with children and young people with mental health issues, trauma, and adverse childhood experiences, including Looked After Children. You should be confident working independently under supervision of a Consultant Clinical Psychologist and within a multidisciplinary team including Psychiatry, OT, Nursing, and Teachers. You will also supervise, train, and oversee others to promote psychologically informed practices within the home.
This part-time role is advertised for a maximum of 32 hours per week, with flexible weekday hours. Responsibilities include:
1. Providing psychological interventions for children and young people using evidence-based practices.
2. Supervising assistant psychologists and psychology graduates (Therapeutic Practitioners).
3. Conducting assessments, including risk assessments, and formulating psychological support plans.
4. Formulating and delivering care plans involving psychological treatments.
5. Training support staff to provide psychologically informed practices.
6. Implementing and evaluating evidence-based psychological interventions, monitoring outcomes, and supporting colleagues.
7. Participating in multidisciplinary team meetings and providing clinical assessments and interventions aligned with policies and NICE guidelines.
8. Maintaining accurate clinical records and participating in supervision and service development initiatives.
The psychologist will be part of a wider multidisciplinary team and will have access to a Consultant Psychologist at our sister site in Newmarket.
