Location: Colwyn Bay, Conwy Rate of pay: £14.85 per hour About me: I am seeking a female Personal Assistant to support my 92-year-old mother for 3 hours a week, most often on weekdays, but sometimes on weekends.
Some flexibility regarding hours will be required, depending on appointments or needs within the family.
This will be discussed at interview and notice will be given of any changes.
This role is to provide respite for myself and my family, to ensure my mother is supported while I am out or attending to other matters.
Initially duties will be to sit with my mother
* she enjoys reading, doing crosswords, listening to music, watching films and TV quiz programmes, and playing cards.
When she is more familiar with you, activities outside the home might be undertaken, for example going to the shops, out for an ice cream by the seafront, or to the bingo.
A full, clean driving licence and access to a car with appropriate business insurance cover will be essential.
My mother and I are seeking a female PA, qualifying under the Equality Act 2010. Experience would be helpful, but not essential.
I would likely initially look in on sessions to ensure my mother is comfortable and familiar with you.
Please be aware this is a non-smoking household.
Task and duties, to include any or all of the following: To provide support with leisure-oriented home-based activities, providing company and sitting with my mother.
To take my mother out to the shops or for a drive in the car, for instance, to the seafront for an ice cream in summer.
Provide one-to-one care and attention at all times, to keep my mother safe.
Be aware that you will be working in a non-smoking household, and be compliant with that arrangement.
To always carry a mobile phone.
This must be kept charged, for use in an emergency.
Must be a car owner, holding (or with the ability to add) business class insurance.
It is essential that you have patience and excellent observation and interpersonal skills, to ensure my elderly mother’s needs are met.
To ensure that due consideration is always given to Health & Safety.
Any other duties not mentioned but that fall within the scope of this role should be discussed and then mutually agreed.
Willing to undertake any further training if required.

The role is dependent upon a DBS and 2 references.
