ACTS Engineering Consultancy is a multidisciplinary Building Services Consultancy delivering innovative projects across the UK. We are seeking motivated and enthusiastic individuals to join our team as Building Services Engineering Modern Apprentices.\n\nThis is a full-time Modern Apprenticeship based in Glasgow, combining hands-on workplace experience with college study. You will support engineers on live projects, contributing to design, installation, and commissioning activities. The role will involve learning to navigate 3D models, read technical drawings and specifications, and assist in diagnosing and solving engineering challenges. You will gain experience working in both on-site and office environments while developing key technical and professional skills.\n\nAs part of your development, you will gain exposure to sustainable building design principles, renewable energy systems, and low and zero carbon (LZC) technologies, helping deliver energy-efficient, environmentally responsible solutions. This may include working with technologies such as heat pumps, solar PV systems, energy-efficient HVAC solutions, and smart building systems that support the transition to a low-carbon built environment.\n\nThe apprenticeship follows a structured 3-year programme. You will be based in the workplace 4 days per week, working alongside experienced engineers, and attend college 1 day per week as part of your formal training and development.\n As part of this apprenticeship, you will develop essential technical knowledge and hands-on engineering skills while working towards recognised qualifications, including:\nâ¢\tHNC in Building Services Engineering\nâ¢\tEngineering Technical Support Diploma\nâ¢\tPerforming Engineering Operations Award\n\nYou will gain formal recognition of the real-world skills and competencies you develop throughout your training, providing a strong foundation for a successful and long-term career in Building Services Engineering.\n\nThroughout the programme, you will build knowledge and practical experience across key areas of building systems, including HVAC systems, electrical services, plumbing and water systems, modern building controls, smart technologies, and sustainable engineering solutions. You will learn how these systems are designed, installed, tested, and maintained within real-world projects, with increasing exposure to renewable energy systems and low and zero carbon (LZC) technologies such as heat pumps, solar PV, energy-efficient system design, and building energy optimisation.\n\nThis apprenticeship offers a structured pathway to develop your technical ability, industry understanding, and professional confidence while contributing to real projects from day one. You will also gain an understanding of the growing role of sustainability, energy performance, and decarbonisation within the built environment, helping shape the buildings and infrastructure of the future.\n Candidates must meet one of the following minimum requirements:\nâ¢\tA pass in Higher Maths or Physics; or \nâ¢\tA pass in any Higher subject at Grade C or above, together with National 5 Maths; or \nâ¢\tA relevant NQ Level 6 qualification or Foundation Apprenticeship in Engineering; or \nâ¢\tSuitable SVQ qualifications and/or relevant industry experience. \n\nApplications from candidates with alternative qualifications or relevant experience in Building Services Engineering are also welcomed and will be considered on an individual basis.\n\nDue to the sensitive nature of the projects undertaken by ACTS Engineering Consultancy, applicants must be UK nationals born in the UK, must not hold dual nationality, and will be required to successfully complete a security vetting process.\n\nSuccessful candidates will be enthusiastic and eager to learn, interested in engineering, construction, and building design, strong communicators with good teamwork skills and motivated to develop both academically and professionally.
