Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive Senior Maintenance Engineering Manager to oversee maintenance operations at our airline catering facility at Heathrow Airport. The role involves overseeing equipment and facilities maintenance, leading a team of engineers and technicians, and supporting safety, efficiency, and quality improvements.
Key responsibilities include scheduling inspections, troubleshooting, managing preventive maintenance, ensuring safety compliance, supervising staff, managing procurement, and maintaining documentation. The role requires leadership in fostering a safety culture, continuous improvement, and effective communication with stakeholders.
What will you be doing?
* Lead maintenance activities ensuring safety and efficiency.
* Develop and oversee preventive maintenance programs.
* Supervise and mentor maintenance team members.
* Coordinate maintenance tasks and manage procurement.
* Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
* Monitor equipment performance and implement improvements.
* Communicate effectively with internal and external teams.
* Respond to urgent maintenance issues and conduct inspections.
* Maintain safety protocols and technical documentation.
* Support audits and foster a safety and improvement culture.
* Develop training programs and analyze maintenance data for planning.
* Evaluate new technologies and collaborate on policy development.
* Promote sustainability and energy efficiency initiatives.
Qualifications:
* 8+ years in maintenance leadership within high-volume environments like airline catering or hospitality.
* Experience managing large teams and multiple facilities.
* Technical knowledge of relevant systems (electrical, mechanical, HVAC, etc.).
* Leadership skills, operational planning, and problem-solving capabilities.
* Strong communication skills and regulatory knowledge.
* Budget management and strategic planning experience.
* Familiarity with safety standards, food safety (HACCP), and sustainability practices.
* Bachelor’s degree in a related technical field; Master’s preferred.
* Certifications like CMRP, IOSH/NEBOSH are advantageous.
