About the Role
As an SEN Intervention Lead Teaching Assistant, you will take the lead in delivering structured interventions for pupils who require additional learning and emotional support. Working closely with the SENCO and teaching staff, you will implement tailored programmes to help students overcome barriers to learning and achieve progress across key developmental areas. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled and proactive TA with a passion for making a measurable impact in children’s education.
Responsibilities
* Plan and deliver targeted intervention sessions for pupils with a range of SEN needs, including communication, learning, and emotional regulation.
* Work closely with class teachers and the SENCO to track pupil progress and adapt intervention strategies accordingly.
* Provide 1:1 or small-group support to pupils who require additional guidance.
* Implement individual education plans (IEPs) and ensure consistent delivery of support strategies.
* Maintain accurate records of interventions, progress, and outcomes.
* Encourage positive relationships and promote emotional wellbeing and resilience among pupils.
* Collaborate with external professionals such as Speech and Language Therapists or Educational Psychologists where appropriate.
Qualifications
* Proven experience supporting pupils with special educational needs in a school setting.
* Strong understanding of intervention strategies and SEN frameworks.
* Excellent communication and organisational skills.
* Ability to work independently and use initiative when planning and delivering support.
* A patient, empathetic, and child-centred approach.
* Right to work in the UK and an Enhanced DBS certificate (or willingness to obtain one).
