Experienced Vet Surgeon
J638918 Tranent Central Belt £50K - £64K / Year
Apply Save An established and well-respected small animal practice group in East Lothian is looking to welcome an experienced Veterinary Surgeon to join its supportive, close-knit team across three first-opinion sites in Tranent (main site), Dunbar and North Berwick.
This role would suit a confident vet with a strong medical bias who is comfortable working autonomously. The position is predominantly based at the main practice, with one day per week spent at one of the branch surgeries, where sole-charge responsibility is required.
The role is offered on a 40-hour working week, with part-time options available. Working hours are 8:30am6:30pm, with a 1:3 Saturday morning rota (8:30am12:30pm) and no out-of-hours commitments. Consultations are 15 minutes and the caseload leans more towards medicine, though confidence with more advanced surgical procedures would be welcomed.
You'll be joining a well-staffed practice with a strong, experienced veterinary and nursing team, offering an excellent level of day-to-day support. The practice is happy to support further clinical development, including certificate study where appropriate.
The ideal candidate will have at least two years' UK small animal experience, be confident working independently, and enjoy delivering a high standard of clinical care. Newly qualified vets are not being considered for this position.
The package includes a salary of up to £64,000 depending on experience, a generous holiday allowance, CPD funding with certificate support, and a company pension scheme. Parking is available at the main site, with street parking at the branch practices.
Located in the desirable East Lothian area, the practices offer easy access to Edinburgh alongside coastal and countryside living, providing an excellent work-life balance.
