Please apply through this link: Maintenance Apprentice | Apply for apprenticeship | AMRC Training Overview of the Role: A Niftylift Maintenance Apprentice is a role where an individual can learn to maintain and repair the machinery and equipment in our manufacturing facility, from basic hand tools to more complex CNC machines and robotic welding machines. 1 Relationships: Responsible to: Maintenance Manager We have a small team of Maintenance Technicians so the ability to communicate cooperatively is crucial to our Apprentice's development. They must also be capable of communicating with non-technical staff, at all levels throughout the business. 2 Main Purpose of Job: Our Niftylift Apprentice will be required to assist our experienced maintenance technicians, learn from them, and develop their skills through hands-on work and theoretical training. This involves identifying and fixing breakdowns, performing routine maintenance, and ensuring the safe operation of equipment. 3 Main Tasks of Job: Assist with Maintenance and Repair: Work alongside our experienced maintenance engineers on various tasks, including inspections, repairs, and replacements. Preventative Maintenance: Learn and apply preventative maintenance procedures to ensure optimal machinery performance Fault Finding and Diagnosis: Assist in identifying and diagnosing equipment malfunctions. Safety and Compliance: Comply with health and safety regulations and ensure a safe working environment. Documentation and Reporting: Develop and maintain records of maintenance work (training log), report issues, and document findings. Training and Development: Participate in on-site and off-site training sessions to develop technical skills and knowledge. Continuous Improvement: Where possible contribute ideas for improving efficiency and working practices. 4 Qualifications & Experience: Minimum 4 GCEs including Maths, English is crucial Previous experience of working in a factory environment is beneficial Previous work fixing/ cars/motorbikes etc is beneficial 5 Characteristics: Enthusiasm and Eagerness to Learn: A hands-on, can-do attitude and a desire to learn new skills are essential. Technical Aptitude: A good understanding of basic mechanical and/or electrical principles is beneficial. Problem-Solving Skills: A basic ability to identify and solve problems through root cause analysis is beneficial. Attention to Detail: The ability to pay close attention to detail is necessary for performing maintenance tasks accurately is essential. Physical Demands: Some tasks may require physical effort, such as lifting heavy objects. There may also be a requirement to work at height or work within confined spaces. 6 Progression Opportunities: With experience, apprentices can progress to higher-level maintenance technician roles, senior positions, or specialise in particular areas of engineering. They may also pursue further academic qualifications and training to become qualified engineers.
