Oxford City Council are the only local authority in England to operate three property licensing schemes across the entire district. Oxford City Council are well known for its proactive approach to enforcing conditions in the private rented sector and our team use their full range of skills in an effective and innovative way to secure improvements for residents in privately rented homes.
Your duties will include visiting properties and undertaking compliance checks, evidence gathering of non-compliance and assisting in investigations into unlicensed properties and other relevant offences. You will also deal with internal and external customer queries and work with other partners to deliver a high quality service. The successful candidate will be able to develop their skills and gain experience in a range of regulatory areas.
The role is demanding and so will require you to take personal responsibility for a wide and varied caseload and perform with a high level of professionalism and in return we will give you the opportunity to be part of a varied role that will include partnering other services, assisting in carrying out investigations and checking compliance with the relevant legislation, whilst being given the opportunity to develop working alongside our experienced officers and management teams.
