Job Overview
We are a local family run business, with over 40 years of experience in the building trade. Operating from our extensive modern site in Poole, Dorset, we provide a comprehensive range of concrete, screed and aggregate services to the trade and public - including our recently opened recycling centre.
We are seeking a dedicated and motivated Yards Person to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining the organisation and cleanliness of our yard while ensuring efficient operations. This position requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. While experience is helpful full training will be provided. Must be interested in learning new skills such as driving a tipper, plant machinery, using a concrete batching plant.
Responsibilities
* Maintain the cleanliness and organisation of the yard, ensuring all materials are stored properly
* Assist in loading and unloading materials from vehicles
* Conduct regular inspections of the yard to identify any safety hazards or maintenance needs
* Communicate effectively with team members and management regarding yard operations and any issues that arise
* Engage with customers when necessary, providing excellent service and upselling products as appropriate
Skills
* Strong communication skills in English
* Ability to analyse situations effectively and make informed decisions
* A proactive attitude towards upselling products when interacting with customers is desirable
Qualifications
* A full UK driving licence is required
Job Type and Schedule:
* Monday to Friday 6:30am-17:00pm
* Saturdays 6:30am-12:00pm
