Salary
£52,647+ depending on experience
What you’ll be doing
* Designing and assisting in the build of prototypes, products and systems suitable for testing, including the development of new products using novel technologies
* System and sub-system validation and verification, including supporting system design reviews
* Component/interface specification and selection
* Application of Control Systems Engineering practices to ensure design safety, reliability, integration and performance requirements are met
* Tailor and develop Systems Engineering practices to suit the needs of a particular project / programme of work
* Problem solving and providing timely corrective actions on all assigned defects and issues
Your skills and experiences
Essentials:
* Degree qualified in a relevant Engineering or Systems discipline or significant equivalent industry experience
* Mechanical/Electrical/Software background, with working experience on complex engineering projects
* Experience of system design using MATLAB/Simulink, particularly of control systems
* Practical experience of systems integration, installation and commissioning
* Understanding and experience working with system communication protocols, e.g. CAN bus
Desirables:
* Working knowledge of autonomous systems
* Working knowledge and application of model-based systems engineering (MBSE)

In this role you will be working within the Engineering Function on the Research & Technology team, playing a key role in designing systems for business-critical projects, including development of new products using novel technologies.
