Skilled Painter - Aerospace Manufacturing (Early Shift)
We are looking for a Skilled Painter to join our aerospace manufacturing facility on the Early Shift, supporting the production of high‑quality metallic and composite aircraft components.
Pay Options
PAYE: £22.23ph + Holiday Pay
Umbrella: £30.56ph
Working Hours (Early Shift)
Monday-Thursday: 06:00-14:15
Friday: 06:00-12:00
Role Overview
As a Skilled Painter, you will carry out precision painting, surface preparation, and finishing tasks on aircraft components. You will ensure all work is completed to strict aerospace specifications while maintaining quality, accuracy, and safety standards.
Main Duties
Masking components to technical drawings and plans
Mixing and applying specialist fillers and paint systems (primer, topcoat, anti‑abrasion, gloss)
Manual abrading and orbital sanding
Applying edge sealing and resins
Operating curing booths and monitoring curing cycles
Conducting quality checks (tape tests, isoscope, gloss measurement)
Working independently with a focus on precision and compliance

Essential Requirements
Time‑served apprenticeship or NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in a relevant trade
Strong numeracy and literacy skills
Ability to understand and interpret technical documentation
Precise hand-eye coordination with exceptional attention to detail
Solid understanding of Health & Safety requirements
Positive, proactive attitude and strong problem‑solving skills
Flexible, adaptable, and committed to continuous learning
Reliable with excellent timekeeping
Understanding of 5S and lean manufacturing principles
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Competent in relevant departmental skill codes
Basic IT literacy
Desirable
Previous painting experience within aerospace or other manufacturing environments
Candidates must be eligible to live and work in the UK, adhering to ITAR restrictions.
Successful candidates must be eligible to obtain baseline security clearance
