Finance Manager - Independent Schools
We are seeking an experienced Finance Manager to manage the financial operations of a group of Independent Schools. The role requires strong technical skills, sound judgement, and the ability to work autonomously while supporting senior operational leaders.
Key Responsibilities
* Oversee billing, invoicing, fee collection, and debt recovery.
* Prepare monthly management accounts, forecasts, and VAT returns.
* Manage ledgers, bank reconciliations, accruals, and prepayments.
* Liaise with admissions, HR/payroll, and external stakeholders.
* Support audits, statutory returns, and year-end processes.
* Supervise finance staff and drive process improvements.
Essential Skills & Experience
* Solid background in accounting and financial reporting.
* Proficient in finance systems (e.g. Sage 200) and Excel.
* Experience producing management accounts and leading teams.
* Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
* Experience in the Independent Education Sector.
Qualifications
* ACA, ACCA, CIMA qualified or equivalent experience
