Job Overview
We are seeking a creative and inspiring Head Chef that is passionate about food and developing their team in the kitchen. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and a commitment to produce quality menus & seasonal dishes to encourage excellent customer experiences. As Head Chef, you will be responsible for directing food preparation, all kitchen related activities and ensure the kitchen is managed efficiently and professionally. Live in accommodation can be arranged if required
Duties
* Supervise daily kitchen operations, ensuring the team function cohesively and efficiently.
* To produce quality daily and seasonal changes of menus.
* Provide support and training to all sections of the kitchen, with menu knowledge, job role expectations and future development of each chef.
* To support staff within the department in order to develop the team to achieve a high standard of performance through training, coaching and mentoring.
* Ensure that the kitchen team comply with all Health and Safety, Food Safety and hygiene standards
* Monitor and control stock levels to generate the optimum yield and achieve budgeted gross profit margins
* To achieve food cost targets and objectives as set down by the General Manager.
* Work closely with the General Manager to create an excellent customer dining experience
* To co-ordinate and manage all office procedures as required, including updating of records, preparation of rotas, time cards, ordering of goods or supplies.
* The capacity to handle unexpected situations, resolve conflicts, and make quick decisions in a fast-paced environment.
Experience
* Several years of experience in a professional kitchen
* Experience in managing a kitchen team
* Formal culinary training
* Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills
