Gap Personnel (operating as an employment business) are currently recruiting for a Electro Mechanical Fitter on a permanent basis for our client based in Telford.
Hours
Monday - Thursday - 8:30am - 5:15pm
Friday - 8:30am - 12:30pm
Pay
£28,000 to £32,000 per annum dependent on experience
Description and key responsibilities as an Electro Mechanical Fitter:
* Assemble precision measurement machines, jigs, and fixtures using mechanical and electrical components
* Work collaboratively within a skilled team of engineers, fitters, and wiremen
* Build complete machines from component level to finished product
* Proficient in bench fitting and mechanical assembly
* Able to make minor adjustments using lathes, milling machines, and surface grinders
* Skilled in using measurement tools (e.g., DTI, gauge blocks) to check geometric tolerances
* Experienced in assembling pneumatic systems and interpreting pneumatic schematics
* Strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding abilities
* Able to read and work from detailed engineering and assembly drawings
* Competent in electrical panel wiring and reading electrical/electronic schematics
* Basic understanding of stepper motors, control systems, sensors, and BUS systems is a plus
* Capable of fault-finding on DC control systems
Qualifications and skill required as an Electro Mechanical Fitter:
Essential Qualifications:
* Engineering Level 3 qualification or equivalent hands-on experience
* HNC in Engineering is a plus
* Good understanding of mechanical and electrical systems
* Able to read technical drawings and carry out fault finding
* Comfortable working alone or in a team
* Reliable and hard-working
* Goal-driven and focused
* Confident and professional
* Friendly, committed, and team-oriented
* Ability to work in a challenging environment, under pressure and to time scales
