At Thera East, we believe people with a learning disability should be leaders in society. We are looking for a Practice Leader to assist in mentoring Support Workers, focusing on person-centred support. You and your team will encourage people to live the life they choose, ensuring they have choice and control over their support, enabling them to achieve their goals, and maximising community inclusion and participation.
Responsibilities include improving outcomes for individuals, ensuring support delivery with choice and control, maintaining a safe environment, promoting emotional and psychological well-being, and supporting individuals in maintaining a safe, clean environment. Tasks may include personal care, assisting with finances, preparing meals, and accessing the community. The role requires flexible working hours, maintaining records in line with company policies, and acting as an ambassador for Thera’s vision:
* Thera will demonstrate that people with a learning disability can be leaders in society.
* Thera will be controlled by people with a learning disability.
* People supported by Thera can influence how their support is directed and managed.
* People with a learning disability will have a say in designing their support.
* Thera will respect the rights and wishes of individuals at work, home, and in the community.
* People with a learning disability will help check the quality of support from Thera.
* Thera Group will be led by a charity.
Skills & Experience:
* Experience supporting people with learning disabilities.
* Knowledge of safeguarding, health and safety, and care regulations.
* Excellent communication, leadership, organisational, and decision-making skills.
* Confidence in using digital systems (e.g., Excel, care planning software).
* Flexible working hours, willingness to travel locally, and work across multiple locations.
