Job Title: Project Engineer
Location: Bristol
Rate: £50 p/h
Responsibilities
* Support the delivery of integration tools to clients' customers, acting as liaison between WSSE and manufacturing.
* Work with project leads and development teams to understand critical‑path activities and ensure timely delivery.
* Collaborate within a heterogeneous, agile development team of mixed‑discipline engineers to deliver simulations and representations of real equipment.
* Deploy existing software packages onto COTS hardware as instructed by the software development team.
* Ensure that all relevant safety and security documentation is followed according to published design definitions.
* Support documentation updates and, where required, shipping and export functions for specific projects.
Skillset
* Familiarity with COTS computer hardware.
* Ability to follow software load instructions to install software on COTS hardware.
* Knowledge of operating systems such as Linux and Windows.
* Strong teamwork skills and ability to build relationships across diverse groups.
* Understanding of delivery plans and ability to keep schedules on track.
* Experience working with stakeholders to provide solutions and plan adjustments.
* Use and management of simple databases for asset management and tracking.
* Conducting software tests on deliverable equipment using pre‑existing test documentation.
* Appreciation for version control and quality control practices.
* Positive and professional behaviours, with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
Nice to Haves
* Familiarity with continuous integration/development tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI, or GitHub) to support automated build, test and deployment pipelines.
* Practical knowledge of system integration principles and processes.
* Understanding of software development practices.
Qualifications
Must have the ability to obtain SC level security clearance.
