Job Description
The Receptionist role is varied and engaging, involving continuous interaction with people in a Leisure Centre. This position offers an exciting opportunity to utilize a diverse set of skills across various tasks.
Primary Objectives for the Receptionist
* Ensure all visitors to the Leisure Centre receive friendly, polite, and efficient service.
* Create a positive first impression of the Leisure Centre.
* Maintain a good knowledge of the Leisure Centre's facilities and services.
The daily responsibilities include:
* Working individually or as part of a team to understand and meet customer needs.
* Providing warm, friendly, and professional customer care to promote loyalty.
* Assisting customers with bookings and processing payments for centre facilities.
* Answering telephone calls efficiently and professionally.
* Understanding and assisting with social media platforms, including the website and app.
* Controlling customer entry, issuing receipts as needed.
* Enforcing Health and Safety policies and raising concerns with management.
* Handling cash procedures and reconciling monies.
* Operating communication systems such as the public address system and telephones.
* Communicating effectively with the team.
* Following procedures for new gym memberships and swimming lessons.
* Operating front-of-house computer systems for bookings and payments.
* Promoting resale items and managing hires.
* Addressing customer complaints or comments following company procedures.
* Maintaining a clean and welcoming reception environment.
* Undertaking any other duties necessary for the Centre's operation.
Qualifications
GCSE Maths and English at Grade C or above, or equivalent qualifications. RSA Level 1 or higher.
Personal Characteristics
Excellent interpersonal skills, a friendly disposition, and competence with tills and computer programs. Strong customer-facing skills, confidentiality, organizational ability, and effective communication are essential. Ability to understand and meet customer requirements is also important.
