Job overview

We are offering the opportunity for a capable and enthusiastic administrator to join our Pathology Administration team based in Hull.

The admin desk is a busy and varied role, dealing with both internal and external enquiries and support requests. We welcome applications from administrators with good IT skills and a positive approach to tasks, who can work collaboratively and flexibly within a large admin team and meet our Trust Values.

Main duties of the job

The main duties of the role include the handling of information and requests into and out of the department, in a timely way to ensure that we meet service delivery targets. Maintaining accurate detailed records using the departmental database, spreadsheets and word documents. Providing support for others in the team.

Qualifications

Essential criteria

1. GCSE level or equivalent qualifications including Maths and English

Desirable criteria

2. NVQ Level qualification in Administration
3. Evidence of continued professional development

Experience

Essential criteria

4. Experience working in a Healthcare environment ideally NHS
5. Experience communicating with service users

Desirable criteria

6. A minimum 2 years experience working in an administrative job
7. Experience communicating medical information

Skills, Knowledge and Ability

Essential criteria

8. Able to navigate Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word and Outlook
9. Ability to prioritise workload
10. Knowledge of, and adherence to, General Data Protection Regulations 2018
11. Proactive and able to work on own initiative
12. Has confidence communicating to all levels of internal and external service users, colleagues and patients
13. Excellent organisational skills
14. Ability to work flexibly as part of a team
