Summary of Role:
We are looking for enthusiastic & experienced engineers to join our existing Energy team to perform all aspects software design, development and implementation for SCADA and RTU based systems. The role will require the successful candidate to work with the project manager in leading a team to deliver mostly short turn around small projects. You will lead the team through all aspects of a project lifecyle for the delivery of Substation Control Systems in the Transmission and Distribution sector. Projects include upgrades of systems to latest versions, modification of systems for extensions and improvements. The candidate should have proven main-stream control automation experience as well as team leadership experience across several previous projects. Experience with Gateways, Bay Controllers and RTUs on electrical substations is desirable but not essential.
Minimum 5 years experience /Advanced SCADA Configuration skills using at least one of the following applications:
* Rockwell FactoryTalk View SE
* ArchestrA System Platform
* Experience of producing Function Design Specifications, System/Detailed Design Specifications and Test Specifications
* Experience of performing & leading Internal and Customer Factory Acceptance Tests
* Experience of technically leading a project or several small sub teams of a larger project as well as interacting and working across disciplines
* Experience reviewing the technical work of others
* Knowledge of project lifecycle working to QA procedures
* Willingness to travel and work away when required
* Full UK Driving licence
* Experience of writing software to IEC61131 utilising ladder, function block diagram, sequential function chart and structured text.
* Experience of Gateways, Bay Controllers and RTUs
* GE C264 products or DS Agile platform
* SEL RTAC & AXION range
* GE D2x range of products (Multilin D20MX, D20ME)
* GE Multilin G500 gateways
* Experience using at least one of the following technologies:-
* Siemens PCS7 Automation Stations
* Rockwell ControlLogix/CompactLogix utilising Studio 5000
* Experience of communication protocols including:-
* Experience of virtualisation utilising VMWare or HyperV
* Experience Windows Server 2016/2019/2022 and Domain Configuration
* Experience of Network Switch and Firewall Configuration
* Knowledge of network architectures including RSTP, PRP and HSR
* Experience of Software Defined Network solutions including Flow Controllers
* Experience of simulation software e.g. SIMIT/ PICS/WinMOD
* Experience of renewable power generation control systems
* Experience of site work/commissioning automation control systems
* Experience of Legacy PLCs/software e.g. Rockwell RSLogix5, 500 or 5000, Schneider Unity Pro/Concept, Siemens Step 7.
* Experience of delivering safety systems to IEC 61508/61511
* Experience of delivering cyber secure systems to IEC 62443.
