Associate Finance Analyst - Business FP&A

About the role

The purpose of the Associate Finance Analysts - Business FP&A role is to be responsible for the day-to-day processing of the forecasting and reporting routines. The Finance Analysts - Business FP&A will be part of the broader UK FP&A Team, requiring building a working relationship to implement standardised UK processes. The role involves transactional processing, analysis and adherence to Group controls following SOPs to execute the tasks within agreed SLAs and KPIs

Role Accountabilities

Performance Reporting

• Prepare the daily and weekly trackers, ensuring that they are consolidated and
circulated to management according to prescribed timetables
• Maintaining the tracker files, including developing new reports as required
• Review P&L and Tracker information to detect errors
• Provide input to the Finance Shared Services Team in their production of weekly and
monthly P&Ls and balance sheet reconciliations
• Generate ad-hoc operational reports as requested by the Business Partnering Team to
support the analysis of business performance
• Work with UK FP&A Team to remove duplication and deliver reporting that supports
decision making for Senior managers.
• Build relationships with report users to understand ongoing use and relevance of
reporting suite

Forecasting

• Adhere to the timetable for all forecasting processes, including:
o 13-week Tracker Forecast
o Quarterly Rolling Forecast
o 3-year Business Plans
• Prepare forecast data templates, and supporting analysis where appropriate, in a
timely and accurate manner
• Submit forecast data into Cognos, adhering to Group timelines
• Conduct monthly and quarterly variance analysis to identify significant discrepancies
between actual financial performance and forecasts/budgets. Provide detailed reports
with commentary to explain the variances

Product Costing & Pricing

• Work closely with Procurement to provide data for price forecasting activity
• Assist the completion of standards reset activities
• Ensure pricing information is up to date and accurate throughout the business and
related Group policies are adhered to i.e. Business costing models (Recipe Professor),
Customer models, ERP system / reporting tools etc.
• Prepare the daily, weekly, and monthly price variance reporting, ensuring accounting
information is accurate and any adjustments are fed back to the Finance Shared
Services Team
• Assist in the preparation of any ad-hoc costing analysis requested by the Finance
Business Partnering Team .e.g. post launch reviews, pre and post promo analysis

Communication and Change Management

• Build relationships with key internal stakeholders and effectively communicate
escalations
• Work with the UK FP&A Team to communicate related updates, progress, and
challenges.
• Work closely with peers from across sites and the UK FP&A Team team to harmonise
ways of working and drive process improvements
• Work closely with the Finance Business Partnering team and Finance Shared Services
Team to identify continuous improvement opportunities
• Support projects as required, examples of which range from supporting centralisation
projects and IS transformation projects.
• Work with other parts of the broader finance function as relevant - the Finance Shared
Services Team, Group, UK FP&A contributing to the UK finance agenda, driving best
practice and standardisation

Control Environment

• Assist and support in all internal & external audit related activities as required

About you
Ideally, you will have good knowledge of operational finance reporting, financial forecasting and analysis, alongside previous experience of working with Finance ERP systems and Business Reporting Tools.
If you have a strong understanding of accounting concepts or are currently in progress of completing a Professional Accounting Qualification (AAT /ACA / ACCA / CIMA) - this would be highly beneficial.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, the ability to operate in a fast paced and demanding environment, diligence, and proficiency of data management - will all be key.
