Overview
We are looking for an enthusiastic individual who can work within a supportive growing team across Leicestershire during the school holiday periods, supporting our Holiday, Activities and Food programme, funded by the Department of Education. An instructor would be responsible for assisting and leading activities to children ages 5 - 16 years old. Activities follow a modular daily plan provided in advance of the holiday programme start date, each activity will follow any of the following pillars of activity; Examples include: Active: Team Games, Striking & Fielding, Net & Wall Games; Creative: Thank you cards, Tallest tower challenge, strongest bridge, friendship bracelets; Healthy: Blind fold fruit tasting, smoothie making, healthy café challenge. Working days are based on team availability and can be flexible, we typically operate a 4-day working week from 4-5 hours per day.
* Responsibilities will include Safeguarding of children (training will be provided on appointment), informing the Head of Programme of safeguarding concerns, and ensuring all children are supervised during both structured and unstructured activities (this includes toilet breaks, breaks and lunch).
* Ensure arrival to site in a timely manner (15 minutes in advance).
* Deliver activities provided by the Head of Programme and participate in Team CPD days to further understanding. Lead a range of activities across the programme, including but not limited to: Team Games (Football, TAG-Rugby, Netball, Handball), Net & Wall (Short Tennis, Badminton, Seated Volleyball), Striking & Fielding (Rounders, Kwik Cricket, Softball).
* Maintain a professional approach to duties at all times and set high expectations for children attending the course/activities.
* Promote an ethos of inclusion and alignment with #BeYou #BeKind #BeGreat. Support the Head of Programme where required with: A) Registration of children on arrival and departure B) Health and Safety checks throughout the day
