Band 6 Deputy Team Manager – Meadway Team (Meadway Team, Church Lane, Birmingham, B33 9EN)
Job Summary
This part‑time role (30 hours per week) is available on a permanent basis with the Birmingham Community Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust. The position will close on 19 June 2026.
Responsibilities
* Deliver nursing interventions to clients in their own homes, across five council wards in the Stechford/Hodgehill area plus a cross‑border extension into Solihull.
* Work multi‑professionally with other team members and support their roles.
* Contribute to the future development of the service and demonstrate leadership in the provision of care.
* Show sound clinical and leadership judgement, supervise the workload of junior colleagues, and independently make sound clinical decisions.
* Be mobile and able to travel throughout the Birmingham area, including weekends and bank holidays.
Qualifications & Training
* Registered Nurse Level 1 (Adult) – ERC qualification.
* Post‑graduate degree or evidence of relevant degree study (including prescribing qualifications if completed).
* Nurse Prescriber or willingness to undertake prescribing module within 12 months of employment.
* Mentor and assessor qualification or equivalent.
* Evidence of continued professional development relevant to the role.
* District Nurse Specialist Practitioner qualification or willingness to work towards equivalent modules.
Essential Skills and Knowledge
* Sound knowledge and application of up‑to‑date, evidence‑based clinical practice.
* Excellent communication, analytical skills and a problem‑solving approach.
* IT literacy and awareness of the complex needs of a multicultural, socially diverse population.
* Leadership and interpersonal qualities.
* Effective time‑management, organisational and prioritisation skills to meet deadlines while handling sensitive information.
* Knowledge of NHS access targets and performance management, including finance.
Desirable
* Competent user of MS Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint and patient administration systems.
* Effective team member.
Personal Qualities
* Ability to work under pressure.
Other Job Requirements
* Independent mobile throughout the area, with a valid driving licence and access to a car.
* Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and bank holidays, as part of a rota.
* Ability to work across various sites within Birmingham.
Salary
£39,959 to £48,117 per annum (pro‑rata).
Working Pattern
