About the job:
This is a permanent, full-time academic post to teach and supervise at undergraduate and postgraduate level in Ancient History, to deliver high-quality research appropriate to stage of career, and to contribute to the School's administration activity.
The School of History, Anthropology, Philosophy and Politics is one of the largest and most diverse Schools at Queen's University Belfast, exploring culture and society from the origins of humanity and ancient history to contemporary debates around politics and government. We are also home to a number of research centres, which bring together clusters of research conducted by academics in the school and beyond.
About the person:
As the successful candidate, you will have the following core criteria:
* Completed Ph.D. in Ancient History or cognate subject.
* Evidence of research output development in Ancient History appropriate to stage of career.
* Evidence of ability to contribute teaching to modules in Ancient History.
* Evidence of ability to carry out administrative duties appropriate to post.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication (written and oral) skills, including the ability to work as an effective team member.
* Excellent oral communication and presentation skills, with sufficiently developed English language skills to deliver undergraduate and postgraduate education.
* High level of analytical capability.
