Technical Project Manager

Reading, UK (Hybrid)
Role purpose:
You will need to be suitably qualified or experienced in deploying reliable Data Centre infrastructure, network and security solutions using a wide range of products from data vendors including Cisco. Delivering projects to time, cost, and quality criteria but operating within a Critical National Infrastructure culture.
You will act as the technical guide to other project managers helping schedule work to logical technical sequences and interfacing between projects and engineering teams.
Key accountabilities and decision ownership:
* Planning & Control
* Create project plans encompassing all deliverables & ensuring stakeholder buy-in. Ensure Change Control and other mandatory processes are adhered to.
* Leadership, Communication & Stakeholder Management
Create collaborative working relationships with the customer, suppliers, and internal delivery teams. Defining clear roles and responsibilities for your projects and providing regular updates to management and key stakeholders.
* Financial Management
* Maintaining a project finance tracker and utilising change control for cost variation from original baselines. Managing project billing milestones and associated risk to revenue. Understanding of ownership, milestone status, project margin, total contract value (TCV) and aligned resource.
* Project Governance & Methodology
* Complies with Vodafone Project Delivery Framework methodology which is supported by industry project management standards such as PRINCE2.
* Risk & Issue Management
Ensure all work is risk-assessed with the production and maintenance of H&S Compliant documentation (RAMs and Point of Works Risk Assessment). Establishing & maintaining your 'Risk and Issue' register, whilst identifying new risks and responses as well as mitigation strategies throughout the lifecycle of projects.
Technical Core competencies, knowledge, and experience:
A minimum of 5 years' experience working with (configuring and implementing) predominantly Cisco LAN, WLAN and WAN solutions in an enterprise environment.

Practical and theoretical experience of routing protocols: EIGRP, OSPF, BGP.
PC literate and competent with MS Word/Excel/Visio.
Self-motivating individual with the ability to develop strong customer relationships as well as functioning in a team environment
Essential professional qualifications:
* Prince2 or equivalent project management experience
* Full SC Security Clearance or the ability to obtain
Desirable:
* Prince2 Practitioner
* Agile experience
* Willingness to undertake additional safety training as required – CCNSG and SMSTS
* Experience of working in a Construction environment.
Key performance indicators:
* Time, Cost and Quality:Delivering projects to agreed time, cost, and quality criteria, as well as Professional Services KPI delivery targets.
* Governance Auditing: Making sure that projects are delivered in accordance with the Vodafone Professional Services Governance Framework
* Regular review via internal stakeholder feedback and external customer surveys.
