Role Overview
Are you ready to drive strategic growth and innovation in the dairy and beef industry? We are looking for a results‑oriented Strategic Account Manager – GB and NI to lead account management and deliver holistic solutions for key clients across Great Britain and Northern Ireland.
In this pivotal role, you’ll collaborate with commercial leads, TAG team, and product line managers to design and execute strategies that promote Genus’s diverse portfolio of products and services, consolidating market share and fostering long‑term client relationships.
Responsibilities
Strategic Account Leadership
* Develop and implement account strategies, including segmentation, resource planning, pricing negotiation, and value creation for strategic accounts.
* Work independently on assigned account portfolios, providing expertise and guidance in complex situations.
* Lead projects and initiatives to drive profitability and market penetration.
* Collaborate with regional and global teams to ensure alignment with Genus objectives and maximize synergies.
Client Engagement & Solution Delivery
* Build strong, sustainable relationships with clients, anticipating and exceeding expectations to drive loyalty and profitability.
* Conduct account visits, lead negotiations, and identify client needs to deliver tailored solutions.
* Align programmes and strategies with market objectives and best practices.
Operational Excellence & Innovation
* Analyze account data and market trends to identify opportunities and monitor progress.
* Develop feedback mechanisms to ensure agile problem solving and best practices.
* Work with product line managers to ensure product availability and strategic alignment.
* Champion innovation in genetic direction, technology adoption, data initiatives, and outcome‑based pricing models.
Team Collaboration & Development
* Mobilise and orchestrate diverse teams to deliver solutions for strategic accounts.
* Define key knowledge requirements and support development initiatives for account‑facing teams.
* Foster a collaborative, “one team” culture across Genus.
Requirements
* Ability to travel nationally and internationally (minimum 50% travel expected).
* Degree in Veterinary Science, Animal Science, Agri‑business, or related discipline; Business, Marketing, or Product Management degree desirable.
* Proven experience in client segmentation, strategic account planning, product management, financial modelling, and pricing strategies.
* In‑depth knowledge of the dairy industry.
* Strong selling, negotiation, and relationship‑management skills.
* Ability to work cross‑functionally and communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
* Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and generate actionable insights.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint) and on‑farm software (DC 305, BoviSync).
* Results‑oriented, innovative, and adaptable to changing market conditions.
