NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK employing around 40,000 staff in a wide range of clinical and non-clinical professions and job roles. We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health care services to a population of over 1.15 million and a wider population of 2.2 million when our regional and national services are included.


The shift pattern for this post is: Monday - Friday, and on call.

Please note the salary is Pro Rata for part time hours. 


The Royal Hospital for Children, Glasgow, is one of the largest paediatric centres in the UK and is a national and tertiary referral centre for a wide range of paediatric specialities.

We require an experienced paediatric physiotherapist with an interest in neuro-rehabilitation to join our dynamic physiotherapy team within the Royal Hospital for Children, Glasgow.

You will be responsible for overseeing, influencing and providing the clinical delivery of the general neurology physiotherapy service to children and young people and ensuring clinical practice is effective and evidence based.

Together, with members of the acute neurology physiotherapy team, you will be expected to manage a highly complex caseload of acquired brain and spinal cord injury and related conditions resulting in neuro-disability or motor delay. You will be the physiotherapy lead for the neuro-rehabilitation team and work alongside other members of the MDT. You will have highly specialist knowledge in the management of common and complex neurological presentations and other relevant medical conditions, all within the context of child development.

The post remit includes clinical management, peer review, appraisal and supervision. Possessing excellent teaching and communication skills together with experience of service development, you will lead and participate in clinical audit, in-service training, service improvement and undergraduate placement education.

As from 1st April 2026, the Agenda for Change full-time working week will be reducing from 37 to 36 hours per week. Part time hours will be reduced pro-rata. However, there will be a corresponding increase in the hourly rate so that pay will not be affected.
