Specialist Midwife in Maternal Medicine - Midwifery Band 7 - Permanent

St George's Hospital maternity unit provides care to over 5000 women. The unit is a tertiary centre with multiple services that provide a range of exceptional professional development activities. The midwives are proud to promote holistic, woman-centred care to the diverse local community and women and families transferred to St Georges Hospital for care.

Our enthusiastic midwifery, obstetric and anaesthetic teams work collaboratively to meet the specific needs of women who come from a wide range of social and cultural backgrounds. The team strive to normalise the pregnancy and birth experience for women with both normal and complicated pregnancies, excelling in the provision of midwifery care for women who require more intensive support. The unit has an increasing home-birth rate and women have the option of birthing their babies in our midwife-led birth centre. St Georges Hospital Caesarean section rate continues to be one of the lowest amongst the London teaching hospitals.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced, dynamic and motivated midwife who has a passion for caring for women with complex medical conditions to join our Maternal Medicine team. The successful applicant will work in partnership with the midwives in the Maternal Medicine team as well as the multidisciplinary team.
